Getting to your Gut. Self Love Sunday.

There are common themes in my coaching practice and that is women who do not know how to listen to their gut. Getting to your gut isn’t easy. With busy-ness, food choices, and lack of connection to Earth or Spirit, listening to your own gut will get muffled.

Why is it important to listen to your gut?

When I see clients immediately want to cross their hands over their belly on the reiki table, or see women putting purses over their belly, or women with large bellies, I often think to myself, that woman has a gut issue. The gut is simply the Third Chakra or Solar Plexus. I wrote about the Second Chakra before. In that article, I reviewed sexuality, guilt, trauma issues, and emotions.

The Third Chakra is the center for power, self esteem, money, family issues and primal or lineage patterns or urges. As an example, I saw a woman this past week who is experiencing a divorce and is deeply emotional, cries often and feels a lack of power even though she’s always been an outspoken person. This particular experience could be sensed by my hands as an energy stuck in the hips and had a yellow color. She is currently experiencing a lack of belief in herself, is worried about selling their house, and feels fatigued. We also reviewed thyroid and possible cortisol issues.

We worked a lot on her third chakra. She held hematite for her emotions and we did a lot of clearing and grounding. She was attracted to Valor essential oil, which made sense. Valor essential oil works with both the physical and spiritual aspects of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity. Everything makes sense when I treat clients with intuition. It all lines up as it should.

Another way to work with gut healing, or third chakra healing, is to teach clients to believe in their Power. Getting to the gut means using more intuition and #knowyourbeliefs on the client’s part. Teaching this can take months or years, some take a lifetime to know their power. It is a beautiful transition to watch. You will see a client realize where their Power is and that they, indeed, have it.

  1. Chakras are such an awesome way to assess what is going on with someone. I want to learn much more about them. Knowing our power and changing our heart is such a simple but powerful thing. I have experienced it myself. I have learned to change my heart and tap into my truth. I hope your client will get there. Surely with your help she will!

  2. I know some people who have real gut problems…most physical. Very serious problems.

    You made me think.

They all have a challenge with this. So, my question is…which came first?

Thanks for the “power talk” Cynthia.

    1. Most likely, Cathy, it came from something in childhood. This doesn’t become apparent right away. If a client has done some different types of therapy or tried other methods then they have at least realized there is an issue they are trying to treat. But, this chakra often gets blocked, people are masking their emotions with food, and it continues to worsen and finally, they come in and need something new to try.

  3. I love this! The Solar Plexus Chakra has always been one that has needed a little extra TLC. I get very strong gut instincts, but I also have physiological gut issues at times and need to constantly be checking in on whether or not the message I am getting is skewed by my physical condition. Some of my favorite ways to keep my gut in check energetically (which does help physiologically) is through using essential oils, crystals, yoga, reiki, and specific meditations that help balance the energy.
I agree that learning to tap into this power and to believe in it can be a very beautiful thing. Thank you for sharing this! <3

  4. Some great points here- looking deeper than what is on the surface to really HEAL is absolutely necessary for long term health- couldn’t agree more- thanks for the great explanation of chakras here- a beautiful post!

  5. I cannot agree more! Yes, it’s so valuable and critical to listen to our guts. Your tips are so helpful. We all need to lean to tap into our interval power for healing. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I enjoyed this blog Cynthia very much. I have come to believe that most of our diseases are derived from our gut. The food we eat, our negative emotions are silent killers. This is my hardest chakra to keep open. Believe in their Power…. is wonderful advise! Thank you.

  7. This is a wonderful Blog Cynthia! I believe our digestive system is the root of many diseases. Trying to keep our complicated body balanced and healthy can be a challenge with our food chooses and emotions. My Solar Plexus Chakra is always my challenge to keep healthy.
